Photoshop Workshop - Double Exposure

Using our images from our previous studio workshop to create a double exposed image.

Photoshop is a  tool that helps to revive surrealist art through the ability to manipulate images in new and exciting ways.

UbuWeb - Great website for exploring digital artists. You can search for themes and types of artists etc.

Image – Auto – quick auto editing to make images pop

If working with multiple images in multiple tabs, use move tool to drag image into other tab if wanted.

Edit – transform (Ctrl + T) - Scale

Zoom - (Ctrl +/-)

Adjustments in Panel to the right

Marquee tool to select, use Shift to keep scale

Lots of selection and auto selection tools

Select character from second image, using 'refine edge' to refine, and select 'mask' tool in bottom right panel to mask.

(Removing stray hairs)

Spot healing tool is smart at healing spots and removing aspects of the image

Clone tool does similar – Alt click to define where to copy.

(At this point I changed my second portrait image to a landscape image to create a better double exposure)

Select landscape layer, Ctrl + Click on mask in portrait layer – Mask – created duplicate mask onto next layer

Change Blend Mode on portrait layer

Refine edges and add adjustment layers until happy with image. Save as Photoshop document, and save a caopy as JPEG.
